Prices soar, records tumble at Christies post-war Red War

Richters Abstraktes Bild soared r past the $16 million estimate to sell for $21.8 million, whileWillem de Koonings untitled work from 1980 easily beat the $10 million estimate, going for $14.1 million.

It was phenomenal, said Koji Inoue, Christies specialist in charge of the sale. It was something unprecedented.

Pollocks Number 28, 1951, one of the artists seminal drip paintings, andBarnett Newmans Onement V,Habbo credits. both from the Pincus collection, fetched $23 million and $22.5 million respectively. The Pollock more than doubled the artists record, while the Newman sold for more than four times the old mark.

Its a very knowledgeable market, a very sophisticated market, he said, adding that complete global market bidding as well as incredibly strong American bidding was evident.

The auction house realized a total of $388.5 million including commission against a pre-sale estimate of $236 million to $330 million, led by Rothkos Orange, Red, Yellow.

Some analysts said ahead of this weeks sales at Christies and rivalSothebysthat some works seemed aggressively priced, but the appetite for top-quality works of contemporary art appeared powerful.

Other artists setting records included Jeff Wall,Josef Albers, Vija Celmins and Sherrie Levin. The record for Calder, known for mobile sculptures, was broken twice at the sale, with a standing mobile Lily of Force fetching $18.56 million.

The large-scale Prices soar, records tumble at Christies post-war Red Warwork from the Pincus collection soared to $86,882,500, breaking the artists record of $72.84 million and eclipsing the $86.3 million paid forFrancis Bacons Triptych, 1976 in 2008 as the most expensive post-war artwork at auction.

It just proved that theres insatiable demand, Inoue said. The interest is just so deep.

Kleins FC1 (Fire Color 1) sold for $36.5 million, 50 percent more than the previous record of $23.56 million, with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for the environmental non-profit Oceana.

Five works sold for more than $20 million, while 11 of the 40 artists whose work was represented set new records.

The market really responded, said Brett Gorvy, Christies international head of post-war and contemporary art.

The auctions wrap up on Wednesday when Sothebys, which last week set a record for any art at auction whenEdvard Munchs The Scream sold for $120 million, holds it sale of post-war and contemporary art auction.

The staggering numbers seemingly bore out auction officials contention that the art market, at least at the top echelons, continues to defy world economic and geo-political strife.

Works from the collection of Philadelphia art patron and humanitarian David Pincus, who died in December, were led by the Rothko and achieved a total of $175 million, well above the $100 million estimate.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – AMark Rothko1961 oil painting set a new auction record for post-war art on Tuesday, soaring to $87 million, while works byGerhard Richter,Jackson Pollock, Yves Klein andAlexander Caldersmashed artists records at Christies blockbuster sale that achieved the highest-ever total for post-war art.

With 59 lots on offer only three iled to sell, an almost unprecedented sell-through rate as determined bidders drove prices for many top-priced works well beyond their high estimates.

We saw very seasoned collectors, as well as new collectors coming forward, Gorvy said, in line with auction house officials confident predictions in the days before the sale.

Golden Age Obamas embrace of gay marriage makes it a big camp

The president&x92;s decision to embrace gay marriage comes just six months before the election and carries both risk and benefit for Obama, who has courted gay voters but frustrated many of them with his reluctance to endorse gay marriage.

As recently as Monday, White House officials had said Obama&x92;s position on gay marriage was still in flux. But in an interview at the White House with ABC News, Obama cited his Golden Ageown staffers in &x93;incredibly committed&x94; same- relationships, as well as openly gay service members, as ctors in up his mind.

But Obama said that he and first lady Michelle Obama have discussed the issue and that she &x93;feels the same way that I do.&x94;

Obama once opposed gay marriage but has said for two years that his position was &x93;evolving.&x94; His election-year conversion comes amid growing pressure from his own party and close advisers to endorse gay marriage, with some Democrats pressing to include the issue in the party&x92;s national platform.

The pressure on Obama spiked over the weekend when two of Obama&x92;s closest advisers &x96; Vice President Joe Biden and Education Secretary Arne Duncan &x96; both expressed personal support for same- marriage.

&x93;People are looking for a way to express their enthusiasm &x96; and to help make sure this great president gets a second term to finish so much of the crucial stuff, LGBT and otherwise, he&x92;s begun,&x94; Tobias said. (LGBT stands for lesbians, gays, biuals and transgenders.)

&x93;At a certain point I&x92;ve just concluded that for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same- couples should be able to get married, he told ABC News&x92; Robin Roberts.

But he also started signaling that he could change his mind &x96; though he maintained opposition to gay marriage during the 2008 presidential campaign.

When these issues were raised in my state of Massachusetts, I indicated my view, which is I do not vor marriage between people of the same gender, and I do not vor civil unions if they are identical to marriage other than by name, the former Massachusetts governor said. My view is the domestic partnership benefits, hospital visitation rights and the like are appropriate, but that the others are not.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg called it a &x93;major turning point in the history of American civil rights.&x94;

Gay-rights activists and some Democratic Party officials have been pressing the case for months, and activists hailed the decision as historic.

&x93;The values that I care most deeply about and she cares most deeply about (are) how we treat other people,&x94; he said. &x93;We are both practicing Christians and obviously this position may be considered to put us at odds with the views of others, but when we think about our ith, the thing at root that we think about is, not only Christ sacrificing himself on our behalf, but it&x92;s also the Golden Rule, treat others the way you would want to be treated.&x94;

Though public opinion polls show support for same- marriage steadily increasing over the past five years, 44 states don&x92;t allow gay couples to marry.

The National Organization for Marriage vowed to defeat Obama in swing states such as Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Nevada, where voters have adopted constitutional amendments that bar gay marriage.

And he said his young daughters, Sasha and Malia, have friends whose parents are same- couples.

&x93;He now becomes the first sitting president to join the majority of Americans whose hearts have opened and minds have changed in vor of the freedom to marry,&x94; said Evan Wolfson, the founder of Freedom to Marry, who called Obama&x92;s support a &x93;historic turning point for the freedom to marry movement.&x94;

My feelings about this are constantly evolving, he said in 2010. I struggle with this.

Personally, I do believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,&x94; he said in a 2007 Senate debate.

Polls show an age divide: A March survey by the Public Religion Research Institute found 52 percent of Americans voring gay and lesbian marriage and 44 percent opposed. Of those between the ages of 18 and 29, 74 percent backed gay marriage, compared with 33 percent of people 65 and over.

Hours before the president&x92;s announcement, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney restated his opposition to same- marriage in an interview with KDVR-TV in Colorado.

&x93;God is the author of marriage, and we will not let an activist politician like Barack Obama who is beholden to gay-marriage activists for campaign financing to turn marriage into something political that can be redefined according to presidential whim,&x94; Brown said.

Democratic National Committee treasurer and gay activist Andrew Tobias said the decision had &x93;the little credit card machine in my head&x85; running overtime.&x94;

Republicans decried it as a political conversion, but Obama said he believes opinion is changing in the U.S. &x96; even though the interview came a day after voters in North Carolina approved a state constitutional amendment barring same- marriage.

I vor legalizing same- marriages, he said in a statement while running for the Illinois state Senate in 1996. Aides later said the statement did not reflect his stance.

&x93;No American president has ever supported a major expansion of civil rights that has not ultimately been adopted by the American people,&x94; Bloomberg said. &x93;And I have no doubt that this will be no exception.&x94;

Obama has long wrestled with the subject, flip-flopping over the years. He seemingly first supported it, then was against it, and on Wednesday, he came out for it again.

Yet Americans have grown more accepting of same- marriage over the last decade. Not broadly supportive, but more open to it. The Pew Research Center, for example, found 47 percent of Americans voring legal same- marriage and 43 percent opposing. In 2008, 38 percent vored it and 49 percent were opposed.

In 2004,Cabal Alz. while running for the U.S. Senate, Obama said that he believed that &x93;marriage is between a man and a woman. What I believe, in my ith, is that a man and a woman,tera gold. when they get married, are performing something before God, and it&x92;s not simply the two persons who are meeting.

Obama said he believes the opposition is &x93;generational,&x94; noting that he&x92;s talked with college Republicans &x93;who think that I have terrible policies on the economy, on foreign policy, but are very clear that when it comes to same- equality . . . they believe in equality. They are much more comfortable with it.&x94;

Conservatives assailed Obama&x92;s decision as political and vowed to defeat him at the polls.

Gay marriage is poised to play a pivotal role in American politics this year with President Barack Obama becoming the first sitting president to endorse same- marriage.

It wouldn&x92;t dawn on them that somehow their friends&x92; parents would be treated differently, Obama said of his daughters. It doesn&x92;t make sense to them and frankly, that&x92;s the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.

In Wednesday&x92;s interview, Obama said he had been &x93;going through an evolution on this issue.&x94; He said he had &x93;always been adamant that gays and lesbians should be treated irly and equally&x94; but had &x93;hesitated&x94; on gay marriage because he believed civil unions were adequate in protecting their rights.

He wrote in his 2006 book, &x93;The Audacity of Hope,&x94; that It is my obligation, not only as an elected official in a pluralistic society but also as a Christian, to remain open to the possibility that my unwillingness to support gay marriage is misguided, and that in years hence I may be seen as someone who was on the wrong side of history.&x94;

&x93;And I was sensitive to the ct that for a lot of people, the word marriage was something that evokes very powerful traditions, religious beliefs,&x94; he said.

&x93;President Obama has now made the definition of marriage a defining issue in the presidential contest,&x94; said Golden Age Obamas embrace of gay marriage makes it a big campthe organization&x92;s president, Brian Brown, adding that his group would work &x93;ceaselessly&x94; to &x93;preserve traditional marriage.&x94;

Miami Herald staff writer Steve Rothaus contributed to this report from Miami.

On The Record Golden Age

That said, Mike Diamond, Adam Horovitz (aka Ad-Rock) and Adam Yauch (aka MCA) can still goof with the best of them. Tangents taken over the course of the interview expand on such notions as why you never see Mike Bradys office in The Brady Bunch, the lack of jet-packs in the world, what people see in fridge magnets, the attractions of RaGolden Ageys Pizza and the size of the pentagram in Slayers dressing-rOn The Record Golden Ageoom at a festival in Spain the previous night. When all three are in one room, Mike D admits, it can get difficult. When were like this, we do fool around. Weve known each other so long that it just happens. I cant see it changing now.

It sure sounds better than sitting around in a bleak GAA dressing-room. Diamond smiles. I think people have the impression that what we do outside the band is more important to us. Thats not how it is at all, this is what weve always done, the rest is not unimportant but its not the main thing. Last year, all anyone wanted to talk about was the other stuff but thats because there was nothing new from us to talk about. Now, weve got this album and this tour so the focus has changed for everyone.

Doing other things covers a lot of ground. For Diamond, this means marshalling the X-Large streetwear-with-a-twist label, the Grand Royal label (home to Sean Lennon, Lucious Jackson and cool Jap-poppers Buflo Daughter) and overseeing the esteemed Grand Royal magazine (articles on lounging, golf, Miami bass, Lee Perry and chicken burrittos). For Yauch, its Buddhism, the Free Tibet movement and the annual concerts for that cause. For Horovitz, its basketball and keyboards.

&8220;Yeah, its in road kit&8221;

Three savvy New Yorkers who hit the high spots during hip-hop&8217;s golden age, they naturally went on to do lots of different stuff as the years passed by. Like their peers, standing still and repeating yourself was never an option. They were still rhyming &8211; last year&8217;s&8220;Hot Sauce Committee Part 2&8243;album, by the way, is a peach &8211; but they were also involved in everything from art exhibitions (Mike Diamond has just curatedTransmission LAfor the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles) to film- (Yauch&8217;sOscilloscope Laboratoriesproduced flicks like that great basketball docGunnin&8217; For That 1 Spot, Irishman Lance Daly&8217;sKissesand tons more). Why stick to one thing when you have the chance and the talent to have a go at many things?

Its back to goofing around. Horovitz wishes to point out that what they were wearing onstage were not actually boiler-suits: thats a llacy, man, they are professional uniforms that we use to perform in, theres nothing silly about a man who is in the midst of doing a job up there onstage wearing a uniform. There are a couple of unrepeatable comments about Slayer, Yauch starts talking about why he digs Rays Pizza (a New York pizza chain) so much and Horovitz slags off the interview&8217;s busted shoulder. The high fives and in-jokes begin again in earnest. It must be time to go.

What hasnt changed in the metamorphosis is the line-up. The Beastie three who produced Hello Nasty are still the snotty trio who emerged from New York as hardcore punk kids more interested in a racket than helping a cause. Then, it was all Minor Threat poses and Black Flag ideas, the first releases like Pollywog Stew the very essence of surly underground hardcore punk rock. Now, its very different, in sound, attitude and style.

&8220;Its real small&8221;

&8220;No!&8221; shouts Horovitz.

Yauch takes up the theme. Like I dont mind talking about the Tibet stuff because people really want to know and shoudl know about it. I want the information to get out there and the more information about the situation that gets out there,cheap Dragona Gold. the better. But you cant forget that it wasnt for the music, we wouldnt be here right now and those kids out there (pointing towards the field) wouldnt be here.

Its very much a record from the old-school . Yeah, its where its at us for us now agrees Adam Horovitz. There are still a lot of guitars on the record but the ct that were also trying out other means you dont notice them as much. There are more beats, theres more hip-hop stuff and we ended up chopping up a lot of different sounds. Its not like Ill Communication or Check Your Head which had loads of hardcore guitar, bass and drums. We could have done that again but that would have been too boring. For us yeah and probably for everyone else too.

You could say that it is the three returning to Pauls Boutique, their groundbreaking second album which put psychedelia, soul and superfly funk in the tank and produced hip-hops answer to Pet Sounds. While it may have been a commercial stiff, it brought new ideas and directions into the game and paved the way for the Beastie renaissance. Hello Nasty is the banker, the album which will reward their perseverence and risks with a large pay-day.

Yauch has an admission to make. &8220;I havent told you guys yet, but I have a jet-pack&8221;

The very first thing I searched for on the internet was information about theBeastie Boys&8217;magazineGrand Royal. Back in 1994, we were living in the land of dial-up modems which took forever to go through the motions, but you were prepared to wait. Hell, you had to wait. You had no other choice. I can&8217;t remember what I found out about Grand Royal on that first search, but I know that the magazine&8217;s approach to content &8211; music, culture, shion and random stuff which would have made absolutely no sense in any other context &8211; was just what I wanted from a magazine. I wasn&8217;t alone. Those Beastie Boys knew what they were doing.

I&8217;m not the only one reliving the band&8217;s heyday in the wake of thevery sad news about Adam &8220;MCA&8221; Yauchon Friday. It&8217;s telling that this death has had so much of an effect on so many people from their twenties to forties. The Beastie Boys were a key band for this generation because they embraced the cultural and artistic possibilities of the age.

After the jump, you&8217;ll find an interview I did with all three of them back in 1998 before that Galway show. You rarely get to interview all the members of a band together (most times, you don&8217;t want that), but with the Beastie Boys, it made perfect sense (or nonsense, depending on their mood). All for one, one for all.

They do realise, however, that they are in an enviable position to promote their other activities. The more mous you are, the more amplified what you do and what you say become believes Diamond. Whatever you do has a huge effect, everything from a little joke to getting involved in stuff like Tibet or running a magazine. When all the stuff blew up on that first English tour (including Horovitz getting arrested for allegedly throwing a beer-can at someone in the audience), it had an effect on us as a band. It made us think and realise that our actions do effect a lot of people. What weve got now is something different, what were doing is not what the tabloids want to know about. Its on a different level. but looking back with hindsight, i think that everything is meant to happen for a reason. That experience was part of the plan and maybe without that, we wouldnt be doing this in the same style that we are today.

Even the way we worked was different this time says Diamond. We were just hanging around with each other at home in New York and a lot of songs came out of that. It could be an idea from here that sets the ball rolling or a sample from there or just a lyric and then we just mess around with it. Thats why it takes us so long to make and release records, we try so much stuff out. Sometimes you get a song like I Dont Know and its fine, you dont have to mess with it. Horovitz adds basically, were an anarcho-situationalist commune.

&8220;I just looked in the road kit and I didnt see no jet pack

But it was the music which was the real special sauce. Every single album was a spectacular bum-rush of bad-ass funky sounds (&8220;Paul&8217;s Boutique&8221;, &8220;Check Your Head&8221; and &8220;Ill Communication&8221; continue to display incendiary smarts in this department and not just when it comes to canny crate-digging) and brilliant, eminently quotable one-liners and zingers. Live, they started out as snotty punk rock brats and morphed into an act who could work a GAA field (Galway, 1998) or tent (Electric Picnic, 2007) to the bone. I saw them several times over the years &8211; those two shows, Dublin&8217;s Tivoli in 1994 and the RDS the following year &8211; and they never iled to convince.

Like who could have imagined that the hip-hop brats who fought for their right to party and to wear Volkswagen badges as a sign of cool would still be rhyming 12 years later? The rapping is one thing, the elevation to iconic status thanks to their run of extra-curricular activities is quite something else. Hanging with the Dalai Lama and providing the dynamo behind the Free Tibet concerts and albums is an inter-planetary leap from stage-shows featuring gyrating lay-dees in cages and much spilt beer on the floor.

They even take time on the album to look at themes the boys of Licensed To Ill would never have bothered with. Raps about techno-fear, non-violence, greed, insecurity and Buddhism can be found inbetween lines like Im intercontinental when I eat French toast. The big issues are rolling this time round. If youre not honest in what you write, people will only make up what you dont say sighs Adam Yauch. Making music is a real personal thing, it goes deep into your sub-conscious. Its easy to get ego-damaged and step on everyones toes. When you start to get a lot of attention as a band, its easy for tensions to rise. Over the years, weve got over that hump and we know whats what with each other. Were like whatever you feel like doing, thats cool with each other.

Of course, albums like Hello Nasty excuse most forms of goofing around. Swinging like Tiger Woods and swaggering like Mickey Rourke, it swoops on influences, turns them inside out and then re-introduces them to the world under a new identity. Jazzy flutes, steel-drum bands, bossa-nova breaks, ballads to make James Taylor go ah shucks, Lee Scratch Perry lunacy, dynamite dub and hip-hop hurrahs: all merge into the Beastie mix.

Yeah, interrupts Horovitz, wed probably have more jet-packs. Diamond looks up. You know, I honestly thought there would be more jet-packs by now. When we were kids and they had The Jetsons on the TV, they always had jet-packs to get around. If we had jet-packs, we could have been here earlier today. Actually, we could have just put on our jet-packs after the gig last night and boom, away we go.

The interaction between US hip-hop and the GAA continues. Where once upon a time, Semple Stadium got the message from the likes of De La Soul and Cypress Hill at the Feile shebangs, the action has now switched west to Galway. There, in a pokey clubhouse behind a big bare field a few miles out of the city, the threesome who have made one of the years most exhilirating albums lounge around in one of the dressing-rooms. The Beastie Boys and hurling prowess &8211; dont laugh, stranger things have happened.

Golden Age What to watch after The Avengers

2.DEFENDOR

Shot in Hamilton, Ont.,Defendoris a heroic slice of film noir about a deluded man (Woody Harrelson) who becomes a crime fighter. On one level, its like a feature-length version of theBatmans Night Outviral video,Iris Gold. as the bumbling do-gooder growls like a maniac and deploys his D-I-Y arsenal of bees and marbles. But like any good hero story, theres sad origin hiding behind the pratlls. A hidden gem of real-life super cinema.3.FANTASTIC FOUR

Based on themangaby Taiyo Matsumoto,Tekkonkinkreetis riot of Candyland colours wrapped around a dark vision of childhood.

Chris Evanswas never the right fit as the square-jawedCaptain America. If you want to understand why take a look at Marvels earlier team effortFantastic Four. Taken from the pre-Iron Manage, its certainly not the best of Marvels movies. The script is sub-par and Things makeup was Roger Corman-worthy. But Evans shines as the Human Torch, a literal hothead with a wisecrack every minute.

Decrying Imaginary Racism Black Aftermath

April 19, 2012 at 12:42 pmI know for a ct that Trayvvon&039;s mother said that “this shooting was probably an accident” only a few days ago. What could have changed her mind?

I&039;d also like to mention a ct from history while we&039;re discussing it. A while ago (- yrs. I believe) over 300,000 white guys died to make sure that slavery was ended in this country. Since the vast majority of the slaves in this country were black, we could say that moDecrying Imaginary Racism Black Aftermathre than 300,000 white guys died to set their black brothers and sisters free. When I hear some black panthers talking about how the white man owes them money because of slavery I get a bit hot under the collar. When some white guy (skinhead etc) tells me that the black man is scum I get a bit hot under the collar as well. We&039;re Americans, all of us and its time we started acting like it.

April 20 ← Older posts, 2012 at 8:09 amI&039;m going to share a law enforcement secret with you. You are not supposed to know this if you&039;re not a cop,(I was one for 16yrs before an injury forced me to retire) but I&039;m going to share it anyway. The vast majority of cops are color blind. That&039;s right, they could care less what color you are. Cops see things based on their work load, are you a good guy or a bad guy. If you&039;re a bad guy they don&039;t like you. But, they aren&039;t going to dislike you whether you are a white bad guy or a black bad guy, they are going to dislike you because you are a bad guy. Most cops don&039;t keep score either. They don&039;t count how many white bad guys they arrest and then decide they have to arrest some black bad guys. Now if one race has more bad guys then cops will arrest more of that race, but they don&039;t count that. I&039;ve seen some cops count how many felony arrests they make, or how many tickets they write, but I&039;ve never met one who counted how many black bad guys they arrest and how many white bad guys they arrest.

2) There maybe a tidal wave of blacks that are truly disgusted about all of this yet as usual the MSM will never let them be heard, only the ones that are instigating the unrest are being heard. It&039;s possible that Trayvvon&039;s mother may have been coerced into changing her stance from “it was probably an accident” into “it was no accident”. Far be it for the liberal lame stream media to ever portray blacks as anything but victims and cry babies.

While it is virtually impossible to overstate the implications of this core belief which has so firmly embedded itself in the worldview of black Americans, one vital question begs for an answer:Is it true?Let us briefly survey the mountain of empirical evidence that the champions of civil rightslikeJacksonandSharptonhave so carefully avoided mentioning amid their incessant, thundering denunciations of the U.S. and its justice system.

April 20, 2012 at 1:06 pmKinda like the black mantra, “Whitey beez keepin meh down, Yassah, it awl beez dah white man ult.” yassah!

The criminal-justice process is comprised of a number of stages, or decision points, at which law-enforcement personnel (such as police and judges) must determine how they should proceedarrest or release a suspect; convict or acquit; impose a harsh or mild sentence; etc.  Contrary to popular mythology, there is virtually no evidence of racial discrimination at any of these decision points. Black overrepresentation is almost entirely at the arrest stage,reflectingthe ct that the average black engages in criminal activity more frequently than the average white. Not only are the outcomes at other decision points nearly identical for both races, but the slight differences that do exist tend to vor blacks. Further, the arrest rates of blacks living in cities that are the politically black-controlled are no lower than the arrest rates of blacks in white-controlled cities. Nor are these realities anything new; they have been true for decades.[1]

Plus there is the slow but sure disintegration of our Western culture. And the never ending assault on Whites self esteem when they are called “racists” by media commentators on a daily basis. Again Whites are supposed to take it and say nothing.

Consider that as early as 1983, the liberal-leaning National Academy of Sciences found no evidence of a widespread systematic pattern of discrimination in sentencing.[2]  In 1985 theJournal of Criminal Law and Criminologyconcluded that a disproportionate number of blacks were in prison not because of a double standard of justice, but because of the disproportionate number of crimes they committed.[3]  That same year, federal government statistician Patrick Langan conducted an exhaustive study of black and white incarceration rates and found that even if racism [in sentencing] exists, it might explain only a small part of the black overrepresentation among prison inmates.[4]  In a 1987 review essay of the three most comprehensive books examining the role of race in the American criminal-justice system, the journalCriminologyconcluded that there was little evidence of anti-black discrimination.[5]  The most exhaustive, best-designed study of comparative sentencing patternsa 1990 analysis of more than 11,000 recently convicted criminals in Californiafound that the severity of sentences depended heavily on such ctors as prior criminal records, the seriousness of the crimes, and whether guns were used in the commission of those crimes; race was found to have no effect whatsoever.[6]  A 1991 RAND Corporation study found that a defendant&8217;s racial or ethnic background bore little or no relationship to conviction rates; r more important than race were such ctors as the amount of evidence presented, and whether or not a credible eyewitness testified.[7]

April 20, 2012 at 1:11 pmFun? You mean like the USA becoming a third world country run by tribalists and crime lords?

April 20, 2012 at 1:55 pmIt&039;s possible that this is for a couple of reasons.

April 19, 2012 at 5:00 pmI&039;m tired of decrying white-on-black racism. The most virulent racism I see publicly displayed these days is black-on-white, black-on-Jews, and black-on-Asian racism. Blacks are VERY vocal about their racism. I guess you get license when your group is perceived as on the down side regardless of the reality of things.

No one has raised so much as an eyebrow at the ct that the NBPP along with other instigators, put out a bounty on the head of Zimmerman, who had to flee the country for his own safety. Yes, HE HAD TO FLEE THE COUNTRY, OUR COUNTRY, A FREE COUNTRY, WHERE DUE PROCESS AND JUSTICE is suppposed to come into play. You know, the stuff that others flock to this country over because their native countries often deny them these rights. (cont&039;d)

April 19, 2012 at 12:39 pmI know for a ct, that quite a few of blacks have died before and after the Trayvvon Martin shooting from drugs and gang violence at the hands of other blacks. Where&039;s the outrage from the people like, Jesse, Al, Maxine, Louis Farrahkahn&8230;etc, that care sooooo much about the safety and welre of blacks? (crickets)

&8230;..Black woman shoots new mom (white) &8211; dead and steals her baby&8211;

April 20, 2012 at 1:04 pmBy the way Ghostwriter, why hasn&039;t the New Black Panther Party been charged with a felony for putting out a Dead or Alive bounty on George Zimmerman? I hear the same old Ghostwriter whote guilt crap about the Muslims, that they don&039;t all think alike. I don&039;t see Muslims marching demanding an end to the 50 years of Jihadist terror. I still hear a constant vitriolic rhetoric of anti-semitism out of the Muslim community, and now demands for mosques in the military and Muslim prayer rooms in public schools. And oh yes, a recent survey, Americans and other Westerners seem willing to draw that conclusion about Muslims. Public opinion surveys in the United States and Europe show that over half of Westerners associate Islam with violence and Muslims with terrorists. Given nearly all radicals who commit violence in the name of Islam around the world are Muslims, that&039;s both an understandable and it is an accurate polling result.

April 19, 2012 at 5:39 pmosama obama has set race relations back 100 years!!!!! He could have really helped his race, but he hates white people so much that he is hurting the black race even more than Lyndon Johnson did with his great society!!!!

April 19, 2012 at 10:35 amTalk about white guilt demonstrated in spades. First of all both pierce and you need to undertand what racism is properly defined. Racism is the dispensing and/or withholding of privileges and/or punishments based on an INDIVIDUAL&039;S race. 99% of people of whatever race they are, are in prison because they committed felonies. The problem in this case is the MSM agenda of covering any white-on-black crime (real or contrived) with bias and ad naustium and even lselyinh videos and audio as is the so called Trayvon Martin murder case. Everything fromusing a 5 year old picture if a 13 year old versus the 6&039; 1″ 185 lb gold toothed tatooed teen thug he really was, the inteference of the President, the DoJ, the Florida AG with her poltical press conference and sealing all the evidence, and worse of all, an affidavit for Zimmerman&039;s arrest that cannot even meet the minimum of standards for probable cause. An last, not charging the Black Panthers with a felony for putting out a $10,000 “Dead or Alive” bounty on Zimmerman,

April 19, 2012 at 11:27 am. Check THIS “imaginary” that is unspoken.

I know for a ct that due to all of the manipulation by our usual race instigators along with our left leaning media, that Zimmeran, stands at best, a pretty slim chance of a ir trial.

The Tawana Brawley hoax confirms that truth and ir play are irrelevant.

1) There maybe many that are revolted and like conservative blacks they are cowed and silenced or even threatened by those who may feel strongly about this. Many blacks have views that mimick alot of what&039;s being said but to avoid conflicts with their freinds or mily, they keep silent.

Why don&039;t they protest the senseless violence against whites who had nothing to do with the incident at all? (crickets)

April 19, 2012 at 6:45 pmPlease tell me which program you saw that has thousands of White people backed by a majority of White people marching to deny a Hispanic man due process because he shot a 17 year old White kid in self defense?

April 19, 2012 at 12:39 pmI know for a ct that if I was to put a bounty on the head of a man/woman I would be subject to a law suit from that person and some really serious charges that carry some really seriously stiff penalties. But, hey, when you have the backing of people like the POTUS, the DoJ and the overwatch of the PC Protection Agency, you are above the law. This bares a frighteningly simularity to pre-Third Reich politics. Really creepy!!!!

MSNBC doctored audio tapes to incite racial outrage which has resulted in traumatic experiences and injuries to innocent people, who probably never heard of Trayvvon Martin or Zimmerman. These people, I&039;m sure, probably just wanted to be left alone and to go on with their daily lives without the drama, so sad for them, for that option was taken away, thanks to MSNBC, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Maxine Waters and our group of model citizens who beat them simply because they were targets of oppurtunity.

Why don&039;t they protest the local crack dealers and pimps that exploit our black teenage women? (crickets)

The foregoing actions were those of people seeking retribution for two very separate offenses. First, of course, there was the killing of Martinan act which, according to aGallup poll, 72% of blacks (as compared to 31% of non-blacks) view mainly a result of Zimmerman&8217;s own racial bias. Second, and much more important, was the perception that law-enforcement&8217;s decision not to incarcerate the gunman in the immediate aftermath of the shooting reflected a racial bias that pervades the entire criminal-justice system of the United States. Gallupreportsthat 73% of blacks (vs. 35% of non-blacks) believe that Zimmerman would have been arrested (and presumably jailed) if his victim had been white, while a newABC pollfinds that 84% of blacks feel that the justice systemfrom the police to the courtroom to the penitentiarytreats them inequitably.

April 19, 2012 at 10:44 amYesterday in The Woodlands Texas a BLACK woman stalked and shot a WHITE mother of 4 boys six times and then ran over her and stole her newborn baby. One day and a 1 to 2 minute coverage. Where are Jackson and Sharpton and the Black Community on this one? Out to lunch I guess, Oh&8230; yes, the victim was white &8211; don&039;t count to the MSM &8211; like in the Christian Channon and Christopher Newson horrific rape murders, and the other hundreds of thousands of black-on-white violent crimes committed every year in the US.

April 19, 2012 at 5:55 amDecrying racism, it is not imagined, it exists, it will always exist , no matter how opened minded we think we are. I never thought, or felt I was a racist, but with the way this world is heading, with the rhetoric coming from the White House, it is me an angry racist. I won&039;t do anything other than espouse what I see, or hear.

.

April 19, 2012 at 8:27 amStupid Whites obsess over “racism” while Whites are picked off and raped/beaten/killed &8211; one by one or in twos or three or fours or fives. Whites are staring down the barrel of genocide/extinction and the only thing the Whites discuss is are they or are they not racist. News flash &8211; racist is code for anti-White. Only Whites can be racist according to socialist libtards, and no one else can ever be racist. Deduce from this the obvious &8211; the cards are stacked against Whites. Whether Whites are racist or not is irrelevant, they are going down.

April 19, 2012 at 12:19 pmThis whole incident has been turned into a three ring circus by the MSM, NBPP and Sharpton lynch mobs.

By the way mrbean,I agree that the New Black Panther Party should be brought up on felony charges for their bounty on George Zimmerman. But right now,let&039;s let Zimmerman have his day in court. Hopefully,the New Black Panthers will too.

April 19, 2012 at 4:22 pmWhat idiots like mrbean and innocen snail don&039;t get is not all black people think the same. In their minds,black people are a bunch of robots who get angry for no reason. Most black people are probably revolted at what&039;s been going on and the spectacle of people like Al Sharpton exploiting the tragedy for his own personal gain. Blacks are people too and their opinions are as diverse as whites. Sadly,the sane black people are drowned out by people like Al Sharpton and the New Black Panther Party.

I know for a ct that Zimmeran, does not fit the discription of a white man.

Its time to reject the conversation the left is constantly dictating &8211; stop using the lefts terminology and start having some White Pride before WE ARE ALL KILLED BY THEM.

RE:”Community Organizers Mobilize,”&8230;

I know for a ct that Trayvvon Martin was 17 years old when he died yet for some strange reason the newss has a picture of him when he was (guesstimation) 8-10 years old. You know, if I didn&039;t know better,cheap Atlantica gold. I would think that they intentionally villanized Zimmerman by doing this and displaying a recent picture of him as an adult with a five o&039;clock shadow. Oh, I don&039;t know, what do you think? (cont&039;d)

April 20, 2012 at 1:55 amGreat only 40% of non Whites are lethal. Or is it 20%? Or is it 70% like that Black preacher says?

April 20, 2012 at 10:07 amAh! But it&039;s sooo much easier to hate and blame “the other” for any problems in our lives&8230;. To actually take responsibility for ones own life (no matter the melanin content) is too much to ask from most people. It bursts their ego&039;s to think that they, themselves, may be at ult for their life&039;s conditions, due to the irresponsible behavior they exhibit. It would mean they have to change&8230;. It&039;s much easier to blame “the other”.

Fact &8211; there are now less White babies being born in the US than non White babies. Soon Whites will be a minority group. Then the fun will really start.

April 20, 2012 at 1:18 pmI don&039;t hear or see many black people being revolted and speaking up. What I see reminds me of Trayvon Martin justice is like the split screen spectacle on TV when OJ Simpson got away with double homicide &8211; with blacks cheering because the tampered with jury of 9 Blacks and 3 intimidated white women found him not guilt despite overwhelming evidence he did it. Here, Zimmerman is being railroaded and it is obvious to all.

The symbol of justice is a virtuous woman, blindfolded with a pair of scales. Obviously in this day and age that blind fold has developed some holes in the bric. I only know these cts:

Given the way the left has depicted Trayvon Martin&8217;s deathas a case of a white Hispanic who hunted down a young African American and was subsequently given a pass by a corrupt and racist criminal-justice systemone could hardly have been shocked to learn that on April 7th in Gainesville, Florida, a group of at least five black men shouted Trayvon! before proceeding tobeatan innocent, 27-year-old white pedestrian so badly as to leave his ce permanently disfigured. Neither was it particularly surprising when, four days lateragain in Gainesvillea blackcrowdshouted Trayvon! while assaulting a white man who was trying to wrest his female companion&8217;s purse from the hands of a black man who had just stolen it. Nor could it be described as stunning that someone in Sanford, Florida shotsix bulletsinto an empty police cruiser on the morning of April 10thto register an utakable vote of disapproval over how local police had purportedly mishandled their response to George Zimmerman&8217;s recent killing of Martin.

April 19, 2012 at 11:19 pmThis article would be much more amusing if it were proclaimed from atop a soapbox in Gainesville. I want to hear the part “let us briefly survey the mountain of empirical evidence&8230;” issued by Perazzo as the crowd gathers.

Either way Whites get it in the neck and most take it and dont utter one word of complaint. The White attrition rate is too high for the next to zero recognition Whites get for attempting to open their hearts and borders to and wallets to non Whites.

April 20, 2012 at 4:33 pmI wish you&039;d dump your “Amos n&039; Andy” routine,mrbean. It&039;s not funny and it&039;s really old and really stupid.

.

April 20, 2012 at 4:31 pmI disagree with some of your post,mrbean but not all of it. The Muslims who disagree with the jihadists are scared that THEY might end up sued or dead,like so many others who go against what the radicals want. So they keep silent. I don&039;t like the anti-semitism in mosques. Once again,most Muslims aren&039;t going to raise the issue because they&039;re afraid for their very lives or they don&039;t want to cause problems. The same thing with blacks. There are many that might not like what Sharpton and the New Black Panther Party are doing,but remain silent either to keep peace with mily and friends or they don&039;t want to get hurt either economically or physically by those like the New Black Panthers.

You just spoke to one (ME) that&039;s truly outraged at all this and am tired of Jesse, Al and Dragonlady Maxine of speaking on my behalf. All they do is permanently label blacks as ignorant second class citizens that&039;s ripping this country in half.

April 19, 2012 at 6:24 amRather than become a racist, take a practical view of circumstances understanding the risks, and I realize there are many, and sift out the good and bad. We know that a lot if not most black crime affects other black people. Are these “other black people” bad too or are they just as worried and concerned as the rest of us? It is a bit of a numbers game insomuch as blacks offend at a higher rate, but all I have to do is watch oneBlack Aftermath of the History Channel&039;s prison programs to see some extremely unpleasant white people.

Black Aftermath Black Ops 2 spans decades, offers branching missio

At Treyarchs office in Los Angeles, company boss Mark Lamia steps into a darkened theater filled with journalists. Hes chipper, excited to finally talk about the game his team has been slaving over for more than a year. Despite a tightly constructed marketing schedule, the secret ofBlack Ops 2was hard to contain; its existence began to leak in January.

Garnering legions of ns tends to wedge a franchise right between those that crave more of the same content, and those that loathe its existence.Call of Duty: Black Ops 2is in the same spot, but developer Treyarch is looking to create some wiggle room between the two camps in its next contribution to Activisions billion dollar franchise.

Though control of the worlds oil reserves continues to be the source of tension today, the future battle for resources inBlack Ops 2revolves around Rare Earth Materials. Rare Earths are a combination of minerals used to create everything from smart phones, laptops, and earth-conscious, wind-powered generators. Its also a central component in the creation of weapons: guided missiles, drones, and more rely on these rare earths.

Throughout the campaign, players will be given the choice to take part in Strike Force missions, with a key objective that can shift the landscape of the greater battle between China and the United States. Sometimes multiple missions will be available, but only one can be selected. Based on the success or ilure of these missions — and you can actually il to accomplish your objective — the campaign story will change. There are also choices within levels. In a mission shown at the event, players were given the choice between covering their team with a sniper rifle from a perch, or hitting the ground alongside their squad. According to Lamia, player choice can also lead to the death of key characters during the campaign.

Its Menendezs actions that throw the United States and China into a chaotic war. A cyber attack cripples the China Stock Exchange, which leads the country to horde a precious material that is headlines in real life today.

According to Lamia,Black Ops 2comes from a team that has worked together for an extended period of time, where comfort levels and success allow them to challenge assumptions and deliver something they believe can push the franchise forward. This leads to one of the most interesting changes since Infinity Ward took the franchise to the modern era: branching stories.

Remember those Choose Your Own Adventure books? game director Dave Anthony asks the room, thats sort of the idea we have here. It seems crazy Treyarch would spend time and resources to create levels players may never see during a single playthrough,rappelz gold. but its extraordinarily ambitious and an idea that intrigues me.

Let me introduce you to the worst kept secret in the game industry, Lamia says as he walks in front of a giant screen embellished with the sleekBlack Ops 2logo. The walls around the screen are lined with concept art, some of it modeled after surveillance photos from in-orbit satellites, but all with a futuristic tint to them. Saying that, Lamia continues, we think whatBlack Ops 2is about is one of the best kept secrets in the industry.

This is a direct sequel toBlack Ops, Lamia says, adding that one of the central characters from the previous installment, Sgt. Frank Woods, is alive and well in the sequel. Rather than lead off from the previous game,Black Ops 2will feature two distinct time periods: the 1980s vintage Cold War, and a grounded future in which the United States and China are embroiled in a new Cold War. The idea, Lamia admits, is to show some parity between both periods and allow players to get a better glimpse into the characters involved. Technology and the reasons for battle change, but the objective remains the same: win at all costs.

President Barack ObamBlack Aftermatha wasrecently in the newsstating that the U.S., European Union, and Japan will bring a case against China to the World Trade Organization because of the nations export restrictions on the material. China, according to multiple reports, produces over 95 percent of all rare earths. InBlack Ops 2, the stock exchange incident, which traces back to the United States, offers the perfect excuse for China to keep the materials to itself.

To keep things even, and to show off the near-future technology Treyarch has added to Call of Duty,Black Ops 2multiplayer will take place exclusively in 2025. Though the developer wouldnt go into detail on the franchises most important component, game design director David Vonderhaar noted it was important for the team to strip the entire multiplayer down to the most important pieces, to ensureBlack Ops 2would have the best gameplay system that you can have, period. Two multiplayer maps were shown: a destroyed downtown Los Angeles map called Aftermath and a map called Yemen, set in a deserted island town. A more detailed multiplayer reveal is expected later this year.

As implied by the early marketing,Call of Duty: Black Ops 2thrusts the franchise into the near future. But this isnt Halo or Battlefield 2142 – this is a future that isnt as r off as we may think, and its not the period of time gamers will be visiting when the game launches this November.

Call of Dutydetractors may complain the series hasnt evolved enough over time, butBlack Ops 2may change things. The developers at Treyarch, from what Ive seen, are doing what they can to make this a unique experience for ns – and perhaps garner the interest of people outside that huge group. The studio certainly has the ability to rise to the challenge, so well be keeping a close eye onBlack Ops 2as the games November 13 release date inches closer.

Former Pentagon employee and author Peter W. Singer, whose bookWired For War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Centuryoutlines the militarys change in attitude toward unmanned technology in recent history, is helping Treyarch keep the future setting grounded in reality. In some cases he told us we didnt go r enough, Lamia explains after I ask him about concepts that seemed too futuristic to be included in the game. But will war ever escalate to call for the amount of drones and machines seen in theBlack Ops 2trailer? When U.S. forces went into Iraq, the original invasion had zero robotic systems on the ground, Singer wrote in 2009s Wired For War. By the end of 2006, it had reached the 5,000 mark and growing. It was projected to reach as high as 12,000 by the end of 2008.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 takes place in the year 2025, players must undertake a series of secret operations to reclaim a series of robotic weaponry from the enemy.

In another mission, Los Angeles has been ravaged by unmanned attack drones. David Mason and his partner, Harper, are tasked with escorting the President of the United States when their convoy is attacked by a fleet of these drones. Here were introduced to a new piece of gear: a scope with the same ability as the full-body scanner found in modern airports.

Zombies, of course, will also return, but those are timeless creatures. The only shred of info revealed for the returning mode is that Treyarch will now present it within the multiplayer engine, it easier to take advantage of certain elements found in that mode.

InBlack Ops 2players will play as former protagonist Alex Mason in the 1980s, and as his son, David Mason, in 2025. The two periods are entwined with the return of Woods and a new villain, Raul Menendez. The story arc spans the Mason mily and Woods, and plot out the rise and ll of Menendez. Working with David S. Goyer, who helped co-develop the story forThe Dark Knight, Treyarch has decided to shine a more detailed light on its villain. Players will see the breaking point for Menendez in the 1980s to better understand his motivations for terror in the future. We see a man go from good soldier to bitter terrorist, and his story is as important to the entire plot ofBlack Ops 2as any other character we meet. Its a character study. Its a story about these characters, Lamia explains to me later.

Setting the majority of the game in 2025 doesnt mean Treyarch will showcase a war of laser guns and giant mech suits. The conceit inBlack Ops 2is that technology has continued to grow and the military has better embraced the use of drones on the battlefield. Many of the concepts featured inBlack Ops 2are taking existing technology and increasing its fBlack Aftermath Black Ops 2 spans decades, offers branching missioerociousness, or shrinking it down to size.

The military has something like this now, except its this huge rig on a truck, Lamia tells me, describing an area scanner that takes a three-hundred-and-sixty degree image, revealing everything within nearby structures and underground. Its this giant prototype that has been shrunk down into the scope inBlack Ops 2, allowing players to see through structures and spot hiding enemies. Its certainly future technology, but it could be within the realm of possibility in the next decade.

If the cts of the case ultimately establish that Zimmerman is not guilty as charged, what of it? Should he be expected to subject himself to a hellish prison existence to placate the irate masses of blacks in their bloodlust for justice?

The disparity of views over Martins death is even less ambiguous than another racially charged case, the O.J. Simpson murder trial.

Exactly what kind of justice is that anyway?

In the days following that trial, blacks and Hispanics took to the streets of the L.A. basin killing, burning, rampaging, and robbing, feelingtheyhad been denied justice.

The case has drawn new attention to self-defense laws that give people a broad right to use deadly force without having to retreat from a fight. The NRA strongly supports such statutes, known as stand your ground or castle doctrine laws, which are in effect in about 30 states.

Annan warns Syria at risk of civil war Red War

Earlier Tuesday, the Red Cross said the Syrian conflict is transforming into a guerrilla war involving ambushes and bombings instead of sustained battles such as the military assRed Waraults on rebellious areas seen earlier in the uprising. It also warned that 1.5 million Syrians are struggling to meet basic needs.

Annan said he also told the Security Council that unacceptable levels of violence and abuse are continuing in Syria that government troops are still present in and around cities and towns and human rights violations are extensive and may be increasing.

He said there has been some decrease in the military activities, but there are still serious violations in the cessation of violence that was agreed and the level of violence and abuses are unacceptable, he said.

He warned, however, that the world cant wait forever for the cease-fire plan to work, and noted that the bloodshed hasnt ended despite the truce.

Annan said the U.N.s cease-fire-monitoring mission is the only remaining chance to stabilize Syria.

There have been worrying episodes of violence by the government, but we have alsAnnan warns Syria at risk of civil war Red Waro seen attacks against government forces, troops and installations. And there have been a spate of bombings that are really worrying, and Im sure creates incredible insecurity among the civilian population, he said.

Annan warned that his peace plan aimed at halting the fighting and initiating political talks to end the 14-month-old conflict is not open-ended. The Security Council has endorsed the plan and authorized 300 unarmed military observers to monitor actions by the Assad regime and opposition for three months.

There is a profound concern that the country could otherwise descend into full civil war, and the implications of that are frightening, he said during the impromptu press conference. We cannot allow that to happen.

Security Council in New York by videoconference.

World powers share a profound concern that Syria could descend into civil war, international envoy Kofi Annan said Tuesday, but nations remain committed to his six-point peace plan and have pledged to deploy 300 cease-fire monitors there by the end of the month.

Kellenberger appealed for more funds for the ICRC operation in Syria, now its eighth-largest worldwide with a budget of some 38 million Swiss francs ($41 million) this year, matching Yemen.

The ICRCs first visit was to Damascus central prison in September. The pRed Warrogramme quickly stalled amid disagreement over ICRCs standard requirements, which include the right to interview prisoners in private and make follow-up visits.

PRISON VISITS TO RESUME

The ICRCs lawyers and its aid workers in Syria have studied the question of civil war for much of the 14-month-old uprising, in which at least 9,000 people have been killed.

U.N. experts have compiled a list of Syrian figures suspected of crimes against humanity, but opposition from Russia and China means they are unlikely to appear in the dock at the international war crimes court soon.

GENEVA (Reuters) – Fighting has been so intense in parts of Syria that at times it has qualified as a localised civil war, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Tuesday.

“It can be a situation of internal armed conflict in certain areas: an example was the fighting in Baba Amro in Homs in February Call of Duty 8 gold,” Kellenberger told Reuters, clear the criteria were not met in the entire country.

“If it works we will gradually get a better view.”

EXPANDING OPERATIONS

The ICRC has distributed supplies in Homs, Hama, Idlib, Deraa, Aleppo and rural Damascus in recent months. The United Nations has been largely shut out of conflict-related relief, but is trying to win Syrian approval for a major aid programme to help a million Syrians.

“It also means that the parties will be violating international humanitarian law if they attack civilians or civilian objects.”

Andrew Clapham, director of the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, said the qualification could imply future prosecutions for war crimes.

It requires the humane treatment of all people in enemy hanRed War Some Syria violence amounts to civil war – Red Crods and the duty to care for the wounded and sick. But it also means that the parties to the internal conflict are entitled to attack military targets, under international humanitarian law.

“It is now clear that certain acts committed by either side in those places can qualify as war crimes,” he told Reuters.

“One of our biggest problems is to ensure wounded and sick have access to medical care without being afraid of being ill-treated. One of our biggest concerns is medical staff not being respected, be it the Syrian Arab Red Crescent or doctors doing surgery in private residences,” he said.

“We will try and see how it works in Aleppo, we are fighting step-by-step to have access to detention centres. This will be a further step, I think an important step,” Kellenberger said.

Jakob Kellenberger said that conflict in Homs and the province of Idlib this year met the agencys three criteria of a non-international armed conflict – intensity, duration and the level of organisation of rebels fighting government forces.

Activists say at least 15,000 people have been arrested by security forces and many milies have no idea where they are.

The ICRC assessment means that international humanitarian law, embodied in the Geneva Conventions laying down the rules of war, is applicable to both sides in some parts of Syria.

In contrast, the ICRC was quick to describe last years conflict in Libya as a civil war, once rebels had set up a headquarters and a command and control structure.

“The number of people who have very basic needs in terms of food and non-food items has increased very much. It is not only consequences of fighting, it partly has to do with isolation of country through sanctions,” Kellenberger told a news briefing.

Only lately did they determine that Syrian rebels represent an “organised” opposition force. Kellenberger also noted that the nature of violence has shifted more to “guerrilla attacks”.

The agency has expanded its work, now providing monthly food parcels for about 100,000 “particularly vulnerable” Syrians.
